Sonoma Salmon
We took off late Tuesday Afternoon to and headed up to Sonoma. Turns out there's a Tuesday Night music and food fest - a farmer's market - in the town square.
Sonoma's only about 40 minutes from Berkeley - so near, so different.
Great for a quick getaway when you're ready to get out of Dodge.

Cornerstone Place is just south of Sonoma California - and a pretty place to visit. They've interesting stores, and intriguing gardens.

USS Hornet and Apollo 11 - History in Alameda
History buffs, and those wanting to honor the generation which saved the world, should visit the USS Pampanito in San Francisco, the USS Hornet in Alameda, the USS Potomac in Jack London Square, and the Jermiah O’Brien.. one of the last remaining Liberty Ships
The USS Hornet became one of the most decorated ships in naval history. The ship recovered Apollo 11 space capsule which contained the first men to walk on the moon. The Hornet is reputed to be haunted.
We've gone to Memorial Day Events at the Hornet... and even heard the Glenn Miller Orchestra there

3 Years Of Electricity Usage
I just graphed our most recent 3 years of Electricity Usage. We
installed a 24 Panel PhotoVoltaic System (electricity from the sun) with
battery backup 3 years ago.
There are still 2 months left of our one-year usage cycle, but you can
vividly see the effect that compact fluorescent (CF) bulbs had on
electricity usage. Orange line is this year, blue line (with a few data
points missing at the end of the cycle) is 2007
Those CF bulbs work great!
Just do it.

Happy 4th!
It's 6:29 am and our big beautiful 48 star flag is out...
Here's a favorite photo of mine - NYC 42nd Street looking at the Chrysler Building.
